RATINGS PHILOSOPHY: |
-
Third, is Power Rating (PR)--Scoring the most points while allowing the opposition as few points as possible. Historically, teams that win by larger margins against their opponents. win more games than teams that win by smaller margins.
-
What a team's average point differential would be if they played the hypothetical 'average' team.
- To figure point spread, compare the ratings of the competing teams and add 3 points to the home team. For example, a visiting team with a rating of 11, should be 7 points stronger than a home team with a rating of 1. 11 - 4 (1 + 3) = 7.
- In neutral field games (like the Super Bowl), there is no home team advantage.
- System PCT (Sys.Pct.)-A team's overall rating compared to the hypothetical 'average' team (.500).
